Shopping in our airports

Purchases in the public area

The public area refers to all of the parts of the airport that are open to the public.
This means that you are in the public area if you have not passed through any security checks or if you are within the transport infrastructures (TGV/RER stations, Orly Val, road network etc...).

You will find all the products and services essential to your comfort and that of the persons accompanying you. Purchases you make in the public area are not exempt from taxes (Duty Free) and prices are equivalent to those offered in the city centre.

Purchases in the area beyond passport control

The area beyond passport control refers to the part of the terminal situated beyond the various security checks (customs, air and border police, airport security).
Prices in the area beyond passport control depend on your destination. Duty Free purchases are for passengers travelling to countries outside the EU (excluding the Overseas Departments and Territories).

Your Duty Free purchases

Reminder: you can only make “duty free” purchases in the shops located in the area beyond passport control.

What does “duty free” mean ?

In buying duty free your purchase is exempt from taxes, in particular VAT which accounts for around one fifth of the purchase price.

Duty free shopping is a pleasure to be enjoyed all year round!

How do I purchase a duty free item ?

When you go through the check-out you have to present your boarding card.
In departing from France there is no limit on purchases; thus it is your destination that determines your limit. Obtain the necessary information from the official bodies of your destination country: some categories of products such as alcohol, tobacco and perfume are subject to “maximum” purchase amounts or exemptions in several countries.
The staff in the shops will be happy to tell you the permitted quantities for the main destinations.
