FAQ: what may I carry in my hand luggage?
Regulations concerning the transport of liquids in the cabin
For security reasons, transport of liquids in the cabin is strictly regulated: liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols must be grouped together in a resealable transparent plastic bag, maximum volume one litre (i.e. 20cm by 20cm). Each container may not exceed 100 ml.
See the DGAC list of items to place in this single bag :
Exceptions :
There are a few exceptions to the restrictions on the transport of liquids:
- liquid medicines required during the flight – you must have your prescription in your name with you,
- baby food (if travelling with an infant) – use resealable containers as you may be asked to taste the products during security checks,
- purchases made in the Aéroports de Paris duty free shops– in some cases, the shop may place the items in a sealed bag.
Dimension and weight limits hand luggage
Hand luggage dimensions are usually limited to 115 linear cm (total length + width + height) on regular flights. Inquire from your airline regarding the weight limit. Caution: these limits may vary between airlines; be careful if you are taking connecting flights.
