Checked luggage

Below is a partial list of items strictly forbidden in the aircraft, even in checked luggage :
- explosives and incendiary substances and devices capable of being used to cause serious injury or to pose a threat to the safety of aircraft

Items forbidden in the cabin

Some items are forbidden in the cabin.
If such items are found during security check, they will be destroyed. Below is a partial list of such items :
- stunning devices
- objects with a sharp point or sharp edge such as knives or scissors with blades longer than 6 cms
- workmen's tools such as drills or saws
- explosives and incendiary substances and devices or imitations, such as fireworks or smoke-generating canisters
- blunt instruments (baseball bat, skateboard, various sticks, etc.)
- chemical and biological substances
- liquids, aerosols, gels and pastes in containers larger than 100 ml (drink, mineral water, soups, perfume, lotions, creams, shower gels, shampoo, toothpaste, liquid soap, deodorant, etc.).

Regulations concerning the transport of liquids in the cabin

For security reasons, transport of liquids in the cabin is strictly regulated: liquids, gels, pastes and aerosols must be grouped together in a resealable transparent plastic bag, maximum volume one litre (i.e. 20cm by 20cm). Each container may not exceed 100 ml.

Exceptions :

There are a few exceptions to the restrictions on the transport of liquids:
- liquid medicines required during the flight
– you must have your prescription in your name with you
- baby food (if travelling with an infant)
– use resealable containers as you may be asked to taste the products during security checks
- purchases made in the Aéroports de Paris duty free shops
– in some cases, the shop may place the items in a sealed bag.

Weight limits

Inquire from your airline the maximum weight for checked luggage. Caution: the weight may vary between airlines; be careful if you are taking connecting flights.
