Aéroports de Paris handled 7.16 million passengers at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Orly airports in April, an increase of 4.3 % compared to May 2005. Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport recorded a gain of 5.5% to 4.97 million passengers and Paris-Orly airport was up 1.5% to 2.19 million passengers.
This increase was essentially due to the rise in traffic within the European Union.
Domestic passenger traffic rose by 1.2%. European traffic grew by 8.5% thanks to Schengen traffic which increased by 11.4%. Traffic on routes to Great Britain and Ireland reached a 7.2% growth. The 10 new European Union members' traffic increased by 4.9%
Traffic on the other international routes grew by 2. 17%.

Aircraft movements
The number of aircraft movements increased by 3.9% in May year-on-year (+4.3% at Paris-Charles de Gaulle and 3.1% at Paris-Orly). Moreover, the passenger load factor has increased (73.8 % compared to 73.7 % in 2005).At Paris-Le Bourget, the activity increased substantially compared to last year with 5,970 aircraft movements (+22.7%)
