Aéroports de Paris welcomes 14 new airlines at its Parisian airports.
Aéroports de Paris welcomes 14 new airlines at Paris-Orly, Paris-Charles de Gaulle and Paris-Le Bourget for 2006 summer season (from the last Saturday in March to the last Saturday in October).
- Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport :
7 new airlines
new airlines are setting up at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport :
- Etihad Airways, the United Arab Emirates new airline. It will operate from Terminal 2A to Abu Dhabi six times a week starting on 3 May 2006 with 216 seat-A330-200 aircraft.
- Blue1 (Finland). Serves Helsinki – 1 daily flight except on Saturdays. An extra flight on Wednesdays and Fridays. Blue 1 is a member of Star Alliance.
- TAP Portugal. Has been operating to Lisbon since 21 April– 2 daily flights. Member of Star Alliance.
- Sun Air of Scandinavia (Denmark). This airline operates 1 daily flight to Billund – except on Saturdays
- Carpatair (Romania) will serve Timisoara starting on 28 August – 1 daily flight except on Sundays.
- Air Madrid. Has been operating to Barcelona since 27 March – 2 daily flights.
- Turkmenistan Airlines. Turkmenistan national airline will serve Ashkhabad starting on 1str July – 1 flight on Saturdays.
Airlines Move-ins
The Spanish low-cost carrier Vueling is leaving Terminal 3 and will operate from terminal one in April. Sterling is moving from Terminal 2D to Terminal 3. Finally, Royal Jordanian is moving from Paris-Orly to Terminal 1 at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport. This change will allow the carrier to reorganize its resources and to offer its passengers an extra flight to Amman.
The 3 major airline alliances are established at Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport: SkyTeam, Star Alliance and OneWorld. In 2005, 76.9% passenger traffic was handled by a member of the three alliances.
- Paris-Orly airport :
6 new airlines
At Paris-Orly airport, Deutsche BA, German carrier will operate 12 weekly flights to Munich.
Hapag Lloyd Express, low-cost carrier belonging to the German travel group TUI, now serves Stuttgart 12 times per week and Hanover 9 times per week while Jetair, another member of TUI group, will operate to Palma 3 times per week. Starting on May 2nd, lowcost carrier Norwegian will operate daily to Oslo by B737-300.
North Africa is also concerned with the arrival of Jet4You, Moroccan low-cost carrier also member of TUI group. Sub-Saharan Africa will also benefit from 2 weekly flights to Bamako with Camali (as from May 2).
Paris-Orly is the second French airport after Paris-Charles de Gaulle. In 2005, airlines served more than 309 cities from Paris-Orly.
- Paris Le Bourget airport :
Paris-Le Bourget, 1st European business aviation airport is increasing its already exhaustive offer. Indeed, Flying Group, fast growing business aviation and aircraft management company will set up its offices beginning summer 2006 in the new terminal. Flying Group offers aircraft management services for individual or fractional ownership in private jets and tailor-made aviation solutions.
