Paris-Orly airport gets the renewal of its ISO 14 001 certification
Paris-Orly airport has just obtained the renewal of its ISO 14 001 certification for its environmental activities granted by ECOPASS, certification organism. Paris-Orly had already obtained a first ISO 14 001 certification in 2002.
This label, granted after a detailed audit of the site and valid for a period of three years, certifies that a rigorous follow up of environmental aspects as well as a series of measures aiming at protecting the environment have been put in place: rain waters are collected, treated on site then rejected in conformity with the natural environment. The selective waste collection and energy savings have been carried out thanks to the installation of more performing and more energy-saving equipments. Moreover, the heightening of subcontractors and suppliers awareness has also been appreciated. Two on-site companies visited by the auditors have been able to certify the conformity of their actions and of their work processes.
Finally, in its report, ECOPASS makes a very favorable judgement on the Environmental Management System (SME) at Paris-Orly airport.
At all its airports, Aéroports de Paris multiplies the efforts to upgrade the quality of its services and is eager to keep up a good relationship with its environment. This approach is particularly beneficial for both passengers and airport community.
