"Cœur d'Orly", new international business district: Aéroports de Paris selects the architecture and urban design firm

Paris, le 30 novembre 2006

Aéroports de Paris selected, on 22nd November 2006, the Devillers & Associates / Brochet-Lajus-Pueyo architecture and urban design firms to design the project of the new "Cœur d'Orly" international business district.

Further to a call for bidders launched in April 2006, Aéroports de Paris short-listed six teams.

They developed and handed in a draft on the outcome of a consultation which took place from June to September and to which elected representatives and local authorities were invited to take part. The design presented by the Devillers Associés / Brochet-Lajus-Pueyo pool proposed an ambitious project well-connected with its surrounding in the "Pôle d'Orly" area.

The architecture and urban design pool must now detail its planning project and the specifications intended for future real estate developers.

The objective of Aéroports de Paris is to create a first international business district over 15 hectares which could notably include office buildings, an international congress center, a four star hotel and a services and shopping mall. The "Cœur d'Orly" project will develop around the former national route 7 and will be accessible thanks to existing (RER, VAL) or future (Villejuif Juvisy Tramway, TGV) transport services. In the long run, Aéroports de Paris has a land parcel of more than 100 hectares to fully develop this business district.

Owner of the largest airport estate in Europe, Aéroports de Paris group has made the promotion of its property capital one of its major development targets. The group owns 1,247-hectare real estate of which 369 hectares are unbuilt and available.
