September 2006 traffic figures

Passenger traffic figures

Aéroports de Paris handled 7.28 million passengers in September 2006, an increase of 4.4 % on September 2005. Paris-Charles de Gaulle airport recorded a gain of 5.4 % to 5.11 million passengers and Paris-Orly airport was up 2.3 % to 2.17 million passengers.

This increase was essentially due to the rise in traffic within the European Union.

Domestic traffic rose slightly by 0.2 %. European traffic grew 7.80 % thanks to Schengen traffic (+10.5%). Traffic on routes to and from the 10 new European Union members rose by 8.9%. Traffic to and from Great Britain and Ireland recorded a slight decrease of 0.8 %.

Traffic on the other international routes reached a 3.6 % increase.
A strong 7.4 % increase was recorded on routes to and from Africa as well as a 4.8% growth for Asia and the Middle East. North America gained 0.4 % while Latin America decreased by 2.5 %.

Aircraft movements

The number of aircraft movements increased by 3 % in September year on year (4.2 % à Paris-Charles de Gaulle and 0.4 % at Paris-Orly). In addition, the passenger load factor increased to 75.62 % compared with 74.77 % in 2005.
